In order to support Communication Management Solution, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a
Ground Station Engineer (d/f/m)As a Ground Station Engineer (d/f/m), you will work on the concept, design, development and technical procurement of the Ground Segment extensions and modifications of SATCOMBw and other Ground Segments for German armed forces or new customers . You are also responsible for the maintenance of the existing ground stations. The department is developing satellite communication systems for civil and military customers.
This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

You will follow the development and acceptance phase from the Request for Proposal (RFP) up to the final acceptance of the ground segment entities (e.g. ground stations, control centers and IT infrastructure)
You will accompany the implementation of the ground segment items into the Ground Segment until they go live in operations.
You are the technical point-of-contact for any anomalies that might occur and support the technical resolution of the issues.
You will work on complex systems and applications including hardware and software solutions.
Your activities will be performed in close cooperation with our associated systems engineering teams, internal/external clients and sub-contractors.
You have a master’s degree in Microwave, Telecommunications, Electronics or other related Engineering disciplines
You have experience in Requirements engineering with DOORS in the area of the ground stations

You have experience in Ground Station engineering (i.e. front-end architectures as well as baseband design) of space applications for LEO and GEO satellite missions:
Consolidated knowledge of Modem designs (i.e. modulation schemes, channel encoding techniques and frame structuring, e.g. CCSDS and DVB-S2x);
Deep knowledge of associated areas such as TT&C, ranging, monitoring & control (M&C), servo and air-conditioning engineering;
Strong knowledge of communication engineering including RF link budgets and antenna designs;
Familiarity with EU directives for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), low voltage and product safety (incl. human safety).

You also have experience with ESA and other governmental customers, e.g.:
Consolidated knowledge of Phase B/C/D/E approach;
Ability to document the own work according to the ESA (ECSS), industrial and MIL standards.
You have the ability to work in a team and in an international environment
Your way of working is reliable, autonomous and you are open for new things
You speak and write german and english fluent
